Vocational nursing
Vocational Nurses assume a critical task of care delivery, and the need for trained Vocational Nurses is at an all time high. To meet this need, a number of training programs can give a certificate of achievement with all programs leading to an Associate in Science Degree in Vocational Nursing. You can be prepared for the programs in Vocational Nursing for a satisfying career working as a vocational nurse. As such you will be eligible to work in a range of community and institutional places under the supervision of a licensed physician/dentist or registered nurse. This program produces nurses capable of providing nursing care for those with ordinary, well-defined health problems. Through the programs, students gain a basis to continue learning and using that knowledge to succeed as either vocational nurses or continuing Registered Nursing students. Nursing grads can choose from a number of career opportunities in clinics, correction facilities, doctor's offices, home health agencies, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.
Registered nursing
Vocational Nurses wishing to increase the knowledge base and achieve career advancement can become a Registered Nurse by enrolling in the specially designed RN program. Nursing graduates from this program will have a strong abstract and technical knowledge base that will enable them to comprehend both the LVN and RN ranges of practice, competency of nurses, interfacing with clients in an inductive and enlightening manner, advanced skill sets, and a stellar code of ethnics.
Graduates will be prepared to offer quality health care to severely ill patients in a number of health care settings, such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and ambulatory care facilities. In addition, a graduate of the nursing program is able to take the test given by the National Council Licensure Examination to become a registered nurse. After graduation, the student will have an Associate of Science in Nursing. Those who graduate with an Associate of Science in Nursing may find jobs as Registered Nurses in areas that focus on restoration of health, preventive care, and palliative care.
