Practical Nursing

Practical Nurses work in harmony with their associated health care experts in places such as sick care wards, individual residences, public school system and extended care facilities. Graduates of the Vancouver Career College's Practical Nursing Diploma program will be ready to work in a variety of positions in the medical, surgical and rehabilitation fields. The 52 week thorough training course teaches students the basic duties and the expectations of becoming a Practical Nurse. The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia lay out the standards for the curriculum. Students are taught holistics and clinical techniques, with a concentration on the Nursing Arts. Classes blend classroom education with lab work and hands-on application. This supervised hands-on training provides students with experience in acute care, gerantology, and community health care. Once the supervised learning has been completed, students are involved in preceptorship and job hunting training; these assists in the process of becoming a graduate.
