Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Among all health care workers, Registered nurses make up the largest group. The majority of RNs work specifically with patients and their loved ones. In an out-patient environment and at the bedside, they are the main contact point between the health care industry and the patient. Since an RN has a lot more contact with patients than the doctors do, an RN is typically the first person to realize problems or be concerned about how a patient is doing. Some typical nursing care duties that RNs provide include administering medications and therapies, assessing and evaluating the patient, and assisting physicians and nurse practitioners. An RN also supervises the patient care given by LPNs, nursing assistants, and other workers.

Various levels of practice and healthcare environments within the nursing field demand different types of academic degrees. After successfully completing a program in practical nursing, you will provide direct care to clients, collecting relevant data and making observations, working within a team to plan and evaluate care and nursing interventions to many populations of clients.
