The Bachelor of Science degree in nursing program at Keiser University is designed for registered nurses. Prerequisites for Major Courses

In order to apply for this major you need the following: student signed statement that they're healthy, proof that they graduated from a diploma nursing program or an associate degree nursing program and a background check and drug test if required. Before one can start any upper division major coursework, these lower division courses need to be finished with a minimum grace of "C."

To earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, 60.0 upper division credit hours must be completed. To complete the program, you need to have at least a C or higher grade. The requirements for the program are as follows:

MAC2105 College Algebra, MAT1033 Intermediate Algebra or STA2023 Statistics, ENC1101 English Composition I, SPC1010 Speech, AML1000 American Literature or ENL1000 English Literature, CGS1000C Introduction to Computers, BSC2085C Human Anatomy and Physiology I, BSC2086C Human Anatomy and Physiology II, MCB2000C Microbiology I DEP2004

Note: Upper division courses can not be taken until all lower division classes, both major and general education courses, have been completed successfully.

Associate of Science in Nursing

Keiser University's Associate of Science degree in Nursing gets graduates ready to work as a professional nurse. Professional nurses are able to execute those actions that require significant specialized knowledge, ability to apply the principles of the physical, social sciences, psychological and physical using one's judgment and skill as a nurse.

Prerequisites for Major Courses

In order to enroll in the major courses, one must pass the NET (Nursing Entrance Test) and an in person interview with the Nursing Program Director. Also one needs to provide a signed statement that one's in good health, a drug test and background check if required, a "C" minimum grade for all general education courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (using a 4.0 scale).

Students will need 72.0 credit hours in order to receive an Associates degree in Nursing. Each class for the Nursing major is a requirement for the next class and at least a "C" grade must be obtained to be able to go on through the program successfully.
