Be a NURSE and make people's lives different in a positive way. Those students who would like to become professional registered nurses (RN) may either start as freshmen with no previous coursework or satisfied pre-requisites, or they may transfer completed credit hours to the nursing major. They will receive a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and be ready for a fascinating health care job. The focus of the programs are on leadership skills, critical thinking, teaching and meeting spiritual needs of the students to develop quality in each student. Around 30 students enter the nursing department each semester and begin clinicals right away with a student-teacher ratio of 1 to 10. In as little as 57 weeks, licensed RN’s who desire a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing can earn that degree by attending an accelerated evening program.

The typical Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) involves 5 semesters of clinical courses that train the student in all aspects of health care, as well as leadership training that will be applicable to those wanting to work as nurses in the contemporary health care system.

The students have an exceptional record of being successful on the RN licensure examination, the NCLEX-RN. This is because of their rigorous training program and the hard work each successful student puts into their success. Even though the university can't promise employment following graduation, they can say that their graduates usually are highly sought after by health care institutions.

Students who want to be admitted to the College of Nursing and Health Sciences must first attend Grand Canyon University.
