The junior and senior years of the program are where the bulk of the nursing course work is taken. Important clinical practice time are planned during this program to establish the expert skills required for excellent nursing practice. Students work hands-on in a busy health care setting in short- and long-term care institutions and also community agencies.

The BSN degree can be completed on-site or online if the RN already has an associate degree or diploma. The ability to learn online lets registered nurse students finish the BSN program with an educational format created with adult learners in mind.

Associate Level of Nursing

The Associate Degree of Nursing program takes six-semesters of year-round learning to complete. The beginning year of the curriculum is intended for students who don't have any previous nursing instruction and consists of the basics of nursing and general education classes. Students who continue on to the second level are able to earn an associate degree, thus becoming eligible to take the NCLEX-RN license exam. Entry into the second level of the program is an available option for those who have a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree who want to complete their associate degree.

Students pursuing the associate's degree have flexibility in selecting online or in person lecture courses for nursing and many general education requirements. Geography, life circumstances, and other factors that would impede one's ability to complete a nursing education program are no longer issues with the online course delivery system. Even though the classes can be done on the Internet from any location, the clinical part has to be done in Columbus, Ohio.

LPN to RN Bridge Program

Chamberlain College of Nursing attempts to address society's need for competent health care providers at varying levels of education and practice by offering an associate degree in nursing with an LPN to RN bridge option. This is available either on-site or online, providing flexible options to nursing students who have various learning and lifestyle requirements.
