Health, Assistance and Nursing

There will be many excellent opportunities for employment in the Health Care sector because of a population that is growing older, and with it an increased demand for health services. For the near future, at least, professionals trained in this area will be in demand. The Health, Assistance and Nursing course gets students ready for employment as Nursing Assistants in different public or private health care institutions. Didactic, as well as practical hands-on experience in a versatile classroom and laboratory environment, are part of this program. Students will also take part in various Clinical meetings that discuss the different areas in the profession.

Practical Nursing

Do you want to pursue a career in practical health care? Would you enjoy working alongside various health care practitioners in acute care areas, private residences, schools, or long-term care institutions. If this is correct, then you should think about a job as a Practical Nurse. The CDI College Practical Nursing certificate course will get you ready to be employed in a medical, operational, and rehab care doing various jobs. You will be ready to take on the work responsibilities of a Practical Nurse after completing this comprehensive 51-week long training curriculum. The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia set forth standards that are met by this course of study through classroom and laboratory experience. Using a sequence of Nursing Art classes, you will be instructed holistically and clinically. You will work hands-on also with supervised assignments in acute care institutions, the gerontology ward, and health care centers. Following your third practicum placement, you will take part in a preceptorship and training on how to search for a position, to assist you in making the transition from student to professional.
